Vidar PAX takes elevates passenger counting to the a whole new next level. Precise passenger detection in both the front and rear seats of moving vehicles helps ensure smooth traffic flow. In addition to people counting, Vidar it can also perform facial recognition, identify seatbelt usage, and detect mobile phone use.

The VIDAR PAX Camera captures images of the vehicle interior, and passenger counting is based on these images.
However, for passenger counting functionality, an additional sub-system must be installed.

Based on our tests and partner feedback, the VIDAR PAX Camera can take pictures through tinted vehicle windows.
However, there are exceptions, such as certain luxury car brands or vehicles with illegal window tints that use IR or UV-resistant, reflective surfaces, making it impossible to see through the windshield.
To count passengers in both the front and rear seats, the vehicle should not exceed 50 km/h (about 31 mph).
For counting only front seat passengers, the vehicle should not exceed 90 km/h (about 56 mph).
