Purpose
& History
Adaptive Recognition is at the forefront of transforming industries through the power of intelligent character recognition. Our journey began with a vision to harness technology for the greater good, and today, we stand as a global leader in delivering innovative technology that addresses critical challenges in traffic management, security, and identity verification.
Our History:
Founded in 1991, Adaptive Recognition (formerly known as ARH) emerged as a visionary force in the nascent field of image processing. Our journey began with a bold pursuit: to transform complex visual data into actionable insights. With a relentless focus on research and development, we laid the foundation for what would become groundbreaking advancements in optical character recognition (OCR) and beyond.
A Legacy of Firsts
Our early breakthroughs in optical character recognition (OCR) technology laid the foundation for our future success. The development of Carmen®, our flagship ANPR software, in 1992, marked a pivotal moment, establishing us as a market leader. This early success fueled our growth and solidified our reputation as a technology leader. Building on this momentum, we expanded our offerings to include in-house manufactured ANPR cameras in 1998, followed by the introduction of identity document readers in 2000. These milestones showcased our commitment to providing comprehensive solutions for traffic management and security applications.
Our dedication to innovation continued with the launch of our first software for container code recognition in 2005 and the introduction of passport readers with RFID chip reading capabilities in 2006. These advancements solidified our position as a global leader in image processing technology.
By 2011, we had expanded our product portfolio to include end-user solutions like the LetUGo parking system (later redesigned as ParkIT System), alongside our industry-leading hardware and software offerings. Our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers led to the development of the Combo Scan and Combo Smart ID scanner product lines in 2011.
Further expanding our reach, we introduced our traffic database solution
(GDS) and multi-lane traffic monitoring endpoint (TrafficSpot) in 2013. This
marked a significant milestone in our journey to provide comprehensive traffic management solutions.
Our partnership with the Hungarian government on the nationwide toll control system (HU-GO) in 2013 showcased our ability to deliver large-scale, mission-critical projects. This success, coupled with the expansion of our product line to include CCTV solutions in 2015, solidified our position as a leading provider of security and surveillance solutions.
Continuing our commitment to innovation, we introduced the world’s most
extensive weigh-in-motion system as part of the HU-GO project upgrade in
2017. This achievement further cemented our reputation as a technology leader in the traffic management industry.
As our technology matured, so did our global footprint. The establishment of
offices in Denmark, the USA, and Central Europe in the early 2000s marked the beginning of our international expansion. We continued to invest in research and development, leading to the creation of industry-leading solutions for traffic management, security, and identity verification.
Today, Adaptive Recognition stands as a global leader in image processing
technology, with a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and customer
satisfaction.
