Adaptive Recognition has launched an exciting new service: the Carmen® License Service – a flexible option that allows users to utilize Carmen® engines within their systems, whether it’s running on physical servers, cloud infrastructure, or virtual machines. This licensing model provides greater flexibility and can potentially attract a broader audience, especially those seeking a more scalable or temporary OCR solution.
Carmen® engines now offer greater flexibility with the new Carmen® License Service, allowing organizations with cloud infrastructure or virtual networks to integrate Adaptive Recognition’s innovative technology into their projects seamlessly. By offering a monthly rental-based licensing model, this service opens the door to more users, empowering system integrators and developers to access the Carmen® ANPR/MMR/OCR engines in a way that suits their unique technical environments.
For businesses with fluctuating demands, the Carmen® License Service offers unmatched scalability. Perfect for ANPR applications with seasonal needs, users can easily adjust their access during peak project periods and reduce it when demand slows down. This ensures that businesses remain agile and responsive while effectively controlling costs. With seamless setup and management, teams can focus more on execution and less on infrastructure.
Getting started with the Carmen® License Service is a breeze. First, register on the Carmen® Cloud website and subscribe to the Carmen® License Service.
If you’re interested in using Carmen® GO or the Video SDK, select the “Carmen® GO” option.
For other offerings like the Carmen® FreeFlow SDK or Carmen® OCR SDK, choose the “Carmen® FreeFlow” option.
When you choose Carmen® GO, the number of licenses you purchase determines how many streams you can process simultaneously. For Carmen® FreeFlow, the licenses dictate the maximum number of CPUs that can be utilized, directly correlating to the number of images processed concurrently.
After receiving your API key, simply deploy the lightweight License Service Client, and you’ll be ready to leverage our product immediately, enjoying its flexibility and scalability.
Understanding the distinction between the Carmen® FreeFlow SDK and the Carmen® License Server is crucial for making the right choice for your OCR needs. The Carmen® License Server excels in scalability, providing access to a version of the software that is continuously updated, and seamlessly integrates in cloud or virtual environments. This solution provides flexibility by delivering licenses directly from the cloud, making it ideal for businesses requiring a robust, scalable system.
In contrast, purchasing the Carmen® FreeFlow SDK, instead of accessing it through the Carmen License Server is a great option for those who want to run the engine on a physical server. It includes updates for one year with the option to purchase additional updates later. This makes the FreeFlow SDK a strong choice for organizations that value a traditional licensing model while still benefiting from advanced OCR capabilities.
With the launch of this License Service, we’re thrilled to offer businesses of all sizes the opportunity to integrate the Carmen® engines in a more accessible, flexible, and scalable way. Whether you’re managing a seasonal project or exploring the possibilities of virtual networks, this new service is designed to grow and adapt to your needs.
