The Challenges
SHED Co-Living, a contemporary and eco-friendly student housing facility, has recently opened its doors in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. This innovative establishment offers a compelling alternative to outdated and underwhelming dormitories, as well as pricey private accommodations.
Recognizing the need for a modernized parking experience for both residents and short-term visitors, SHED Co-Living embarked on a mission to revolutionize the parking facilities at the dormitory. Instead of relying on cumbersome and time-consuming ticketing systems, the vision was to create a solution that allowed drivers to effortlessly enter and exit the parking lot without leaving their vehicles. Additionally, payment procedures would be simplified by a convenient mobile app. This forward-thinking approach not only saves valuable time for residents and visitors but also aligns seamlessly with SHED’s contemporary and sustainable atmosphere.
The Solution
As part of its seamless parking solution, Hansab has deployed its cutting-edge Entringo parking system in conjunction with uniPark’s user-friendly mobile app. A pivotal component of this system is the state-of-the-art Einar ANPR-based vehicle access control camera, developed by Adaptive Recognition, which facilitates access control and parking management.
The next-generation Einar ANPR cameras have the remarkable capability to scan license plates and nameplates from vehicles spanning countries worldwide. Positioned at the entrance, an accompanying escort screen displays the camera’s captured image, assisting drivers in positioning their vehicles optimally to ensure the license plate is within view. Furthermore, this feature proves invaluable in verifying that the license plate remains unobstructed by snow, rain, or dirt, ensuring an efficient and hassle-free parking experience.
The seamlessly integrated number plate recognition software connected to the surveillance cameras performs a crucial function by meticulously recording the number of vehicles present on-site and accurately calculating their parking duration. This valuable information serves a dual purpose: monitoring the availability of vacant parking spaces and streamlining the parking process through automation.
To ensure a cohesive system, license plate and time data are synchronized with a centralized server. Moreover, a local database guarantees uninterrupted system functionality, even in the absence of an Internet connection.
By associating the duration of each vehicle’s stay with their respective license plates, this data becomes instrumental in vehicle identification. Leveraging this information, uniPark’s mobile app effectively manages payment transactions, further enhancing the convenience and efficiency of the parking experience.
In this type of parking lot, the services of a controller are no longer needed. Thanks to seamless synchronization with the accompanying mobile app, customers can now effortlessly and swiftly make payments for the service. Furthermore, the elimination of ticket requirements promotes a culture of sustainability and reduces waste.
A customer service and technical team is available 24/7, which ensures that the system’s ongoing operation and active maintenance.
In short, this innovative solution not only saves customers valuable time and money but also streamlines day-to-day processes, making them more straightforward and efficient than ever before.
